Numbers-Matching 1974 Porsche 914 2.0 in Saturn Yellow with Fuchs Wheels
About this vehicle
The 914 was a genuine collaborative effort — Porsche and Volkswagen engineered it together, Karmann assembled it, and when it bowed in 1969 it arrived as a Targa-top mid-engine sports car unlike anything either brand had offered before. By 1973, the six-cylinder 914/6 had been dropped from the top of the range in favor of a 2.0-liter four-cylinder, which brought forged alloy wheels, front and rear anti-roll bars, and a more complete instrument cluster along for the ride. This 1974 car is numbers-matching. Saturn Yellow over a tan leatherette interior, the Appearance Group ticked, and 4-bolt Fuchs forged alloy wheels fitted at the factory. Approximately 26,500 documented original miles, and a copy of the Porsche Certificate of Authenticity accompanies the car.

California-specification from new, it left the factory wearing Saturn Yellow (L13M) and still carries original paint on every panel except one resprayed fender. The exterior has since been treated with a graphite coating. Factory equipment includes a tinted windshield, sealed-beam headlights, and fog lights integrated into the front bumper. Those 4-bolt Fuchs forged alloy wheels are shod in Michelin tires, and a second set of aftermarket wheels and tires transfers with the sale. Paint condition is reported as excellent, with a few road chips scattered about and a small chip on the original windshield — one the seller chose to leave alone rather than disturb the car's originality.

The tan leatherette cabin, carpets included, is described as excellent original condition. Appearance Group content fills the center console: a clock, an oil-temperature gauge, and a voltmeter, along with a leather shift-lever boot and a dual-tone horn. The original radio is gone, swapped for an aftermarket retro-style unit. Every gauge and electrical item is reported fully operational.

Power comes from the 2.0-liter air-cooled flat-four with Bosch fuel injection, factory-rated at 95 HP and mounted amidships, driving through a 5-speed manual gearbox. Both engine and transmission are original and numbers-matching; the car is otherwise stock. Four-wheel disc brakes handle stopping duties. A prior owner fitted a replacement exhaust, the battery was swapped two years ago, and a Porsche specialist has carried out annual maintenance since.

Documentation and extras are thorough: clean title, owner's manual, toolkit, spare tire, car cover, battery charger, a copy of the Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, the additional set of aftermarket wheels and tires, and service records.
