Your VW Parts Search is Over
Have you ever seen the 1936 Tatra Model T97? Chances are you haven’t even heard of this obscure Czech company (which still builds heavy trucks, incidentally). But if you’ve ever seen a classic VW Beetle, you have a good idea of what it looked like because that was the design upon which Ferdinand Porsche based his 1938 KDF-Wagen – the earliest version of the Beetle. The resemblance was so close that Tatra filed a lawsuit against Volkswagen in which the latter wound up paying nearly one million U.S. dollars in 1961.
Since Volkswagen vehicles started entering the U.S. around 1948, the company has come up with multiple models – so many different ones in fact that it’s hard to believe they’re all made by the same company. Whether you own one of the latest front-engine, front-wheel-drive models with a four-stroke water cooled engine, or a classic air-cooled model from the 50s, 60s, or 70s, chances are that you wind up using a lot of aftermarket Volkswagen parts to keep it going. Not all discount VW parts are created equal, however, and can vary a great deal in terms of quality and durability. Beyond the Volkswagen parts used for standard maintenance chores such as oil changes and tune-ups, Volkswagen parts that typically wear out are the alternator, belts, distributor cap, and starter. When you replace these Volkswagen parts, it doesn’t pay to scrimp – always get the best you can afford, and you’ll wind up replacing them a lot less frequently.
Here at AutohausAZ, we’ve been providing genuine online VW OEM parts and accessories to buy for VW vehicles since 1979, and now with the added convenience of our online catalog, it’s easier than ever to buy VW parts online for your vehicle, at a discount!

1975 VW Golf GTI
When it was first unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1975, the Volkswagen Golf GTI didn’t make it to the UK market until 1977. Initially, only 34 units were produced with left-hand drive, which all sold the first tentative year. The car utilized a 1,588cc four-cylinder engine with K-Jetronic fuel injection, generating 110PS at 6,100rpm and 103 lbs of torque at 5,000rpm. At 810kg, the GTI could race from zero to 60 in a mere nine seconds on its way to its top speed of 110mph. An instant hit, as right-hand drive cars made their way into the UK in 1979, sales tripled, and the rest is history.
1946 VW Type 11 "Beetle"
Odds are, you’ve heard of this legendary automobile. Whether it’s from the classic film anthology, “Herbie,” or from the incessant jabbing and poking that results from an innocent game of punch buggy, the Volkswagen Type 11, or “Beetle,” has gone from cult classic to an all-time best seller since it was introduced to the world in 1946. The Beetle inspired unusual loyalty and enthusiasm due to its affordability, reliability, practicality, and adaptability. With its practical layout and easily constructible backbone frame, its rear-mounted engine was connected directly to the transaxle, effectively eliminating the driveshaft and leaving substantial room between the wheels. The original beetle is an incredibly rare find, especially here in the U.S. where it wasn’t offered until 1948.
1989 VW Corrado
A Volkswagen that never received its fair share of time in the spotlight ended up being one of the fastest production cars ever built by the company, and an underappreciated one at that. Its brief six-year production period is evidence of Volkswagen’s cost-cutting measures that occurred in 1995, but it’s still recognized as a tremendous breakthrough in the company for its aggressive, yet elegant aesthetic and its capabilities as a first-rate driver’s car. One of the rarest VW models ever produced, if you see one of these on the road, you can bet the driver plucked a part from our shelves to keep her in tip-top shape.
