1982 Mercedes-Benz 380SL R107 Roadster in Light Ivory
About this vehicle
The R107 roadster ran from 1971 through 1989 — one of Mercedes-Benz's longest-lived platforms — and the 380SL occupied North American showrooms from 1981 to 1985, slotted between the 450SL and the 560SL. Power comes from the all-aluminum M116 V8, displacing 3,839 cc across a 3.8-liter architecture and rated at 155 hp and 196 lb-ft of torque for the US market, with drive sent rearward through a 4-speed automatic. This 1982 car wears Light Ivory over tan leather and shows 110,848 miles. It's been with a single owner since 1998.

Light Ivory reads well on the body. Chrome trim appears throughout, and the car sits on 14-inch Bundt cast alloy wheels — originally a factory option above the standard steel units fitted to R107 models — wrapped in tires dated to 2010. A removable body-color hardtop is included, having spent years on a storage rack, while a brown convertible soft top currently fitted is described by the seller as being in very good condition. Front fog lights are present. The seller reports no serious rust anywhere, and a clean CARFAX is on file.

Tan leather covers the manually adjustable bucket seats inside. A black four-spoke steering wheel, folding center armrest, cruise control, power windows, central locking, and an AM/FM cassette stereo round out the cabin. VDO analog gauges fill the instrument cluster. Leather wear tracks the mileage honestly, and every factory system works properly — air conditioning being the lone exception.

Compared to the iron-block 450SL it replaced, the M116's all-aluminum block and cylinder head construction trimmed weight meaningfully. Factory equipment extends to fully independent suspension and power-assisted disc brakes at all four corners, ventilated up front and solid at the rear, backed by a dual-circuit hydraulic system. The seller describes it as well-serviced and driving well, though it hasn't seen much road since 2017. Winter use? Never. It's been stored seven months out of every year since 1998.

Same owner since 1998. A clean title is in hand, and the car is offered on dealer consignment out of Massachusetts.
