About this vehicle

Guards Red over Cadbury Brown. That pairing dropped off Porsche's option sheet early in the 944's production window, making a clean-title, two-owner slicktop wearing both colors harder to find than most buyers expect. Factory documentation decodes this 1984 Porsche 944 as a Coupe with a 6-cylinder configuration, a 5-speed manual transaxle, and no sunroof from the factory. The odometer reads approximately 64,100 miles. Recent mechanical attention has been thorough, and the car is offered today in Covington, GA.

Guards Red paint covers the bodywork and is original throughout, with one exception: the driver's-side front fender was resprayed in correct single-stage Guards Red after a reported parking-lot dent. A professional paint correction and ceramic coating followed. The seller is candid about a few small chips, minor crazing on the roof panel with a single small blemish, and the removal of the factory stone-guard decal — no shadow was left behind. Euro rear fog-light conversion and PIAA LED amber front fog bulbs have been fitted. Side windows carry 80% tint. The car rides on 15" wheels with Uniroyal Tiger Paw tires dated 2023, under 2,500 miles on them since fitting. CARFAX records minor damage in March 2024; a detailed gallery is included.

Cadbury Brown upholstery covers the leather seating surfaces, and a color-matched leather-wrapped steering wheel ties the interior palette together. Power windows are fitted. Front seats are manually adjustable, and the glovebox locks. A period brown sheepskin seat cover and a matching dash cover come with the car. The seller calls the interior clean and original, but discloses sun-fading on the rear cargo carpet and minor cracks at the dash speaker opening and defrost-vent corners. A Continental Bluetooth head unit is installed; the original Blaupunkt Monterey radio is included in the sale. Both the passenger-side window switch and the mirror-selector switch are inoperable, leaving only the passenger mirror adjustable from the driver's seat.

Under the hood, a 2.5-liter inline-four drives the rear wheels through the 5-speed manual transaxle, the front-engine, rear-transaxle layout that gave the 944 its reputation for balanced handling. Factory options on this car include sport shock absorbers and stabilizers, a leather steering wheel, and a catalytic converter. The recent service list is substantial. Timing, balance, and accessory belts with rollers were replaced in 2023, and a factory-gauge belt-tension check was completed in 2026. A new performance aluminum radiator with a low-temperature thermo-switch went in, alongside new front and rear shocks, new brake pads, a new fuel pump, filter, and tank screen, plus fresh brake and clutch fluid and an oil service. KLA chassis and sway-bar braces plus adjustable rear drop links round out the suspension additions. The seller discloses a slow shifter-seal seepage, a rear main seal that can drip after the car sits for extended periods, and some transaxle whine when lugging at low RPM.

Included with the sale: a clean title, owner's manuals, a spare tire, a semi-custom car cover with a dedicated "greenhouse" cover for the glass and roof, windshield and rear-hatch reflective sunshades, and the original Blaupunkt Monterey radio.
