1992 Porsche 911 Carrera 2 Cabriolet in Black — 32k Miles, G50 5-Speed
About this vehicle
Delivered new through Ray Catena Imports of Edison, New Jersey, this 1992 Porsche 911 Carrera 2 Cabriolet in Black has stayed within the greater New York area its whole life. The 964 generation wasn't a refresh — it was a ground-up rethink. Coil-spring suspension front and rear replaced the long-running torsion bar setup, power steering became standard, and the naturally aspirated M64 3.6-liter flat-six, rated at 247 hp at 6,100 rpm, took over from the smaller engines that preceded it. And through all of that, it remained air-cooled. The odometer reads approximately 32,118 miles.

The exterior wears Black (A1), riding on 16" C2 five-spoke wheels fitted with the optional colored Porsche-crested center caps. Integrated front fog lamps, heated side mirrors, and black brake calipers with white Porsche lettering finish the look. That speed-activated rear spoiler — a 964 introduction, raising automatically at 50 mph and retracting flush with the engine lid below that — works as it should. The black fully lined power convertible top is present, and Michelin Pilot Sport All Season tires are new from 2025. Two items to flag: a crack in the rear taillight reflector strip and some scuffing on the plastic rear window. A clean CARFAX report and detailed gallery images come with the car.

Inside, black partial leather covers the cabin. Full analog instrumentation, a leather-wrapped four-spoke steering wheel, automatic climate control, power windows, power mirrors, and a central locking and alarm system with LED indicators are all there. The full-power driver's seat is a factory option. One issue: the factory six-speaker stereo recently stopped powering on — the seller suspects a fuse, since it was working fine until just before the listing went up.

The G50/03 5-speed fully synchronized manual transaxle handles shifting, the correct unit for a 964 Carrera 2. Four-wheel ventilated disc brakes with ABS handle stopping duties, and the chassis runs a toe-correcting rear suspension with front and rear stabilizer bars. Fresh service in 2025 covered a valve adjustment, drive and distributor belts, spark plugs, distributor caps and rotors, and shift coupler bushing replacement. In 2026, the convertible top mechanism was serviced to restore proper operation; the shop recommended replacing both top transmissions — a recognized wear item on 964 cabriolets — which the seller declined.

Accompanying the car at sale: a clean title, owner's manuals, the original window sticker, a tool kit, a spare tire, and an air pump.
