Land Rover Genuine OEM Parts & Accessories Online
The legendary Land Rover, first designed and built by a British subsidiary of the Ford Motor Company, was really the first sport utility vehicle. The first one rolled off the assembly line in Solihull, England, all the way back in 1948. It owed its lightweight construction to the steel shortages resulting from World War II. However, these same conditions made aircraft aluminum quite plentiful. Today, you’ll need Land Rover auto parts in order to keep your vehicle at its best, but fortunately, this is neither difficult nor expensive if proper maintenance is performed on schedule and as needed.
Typically, the engine oil and filter should be changed every three months or 3,000 miles for optimum performance. The air filter is another Land Rover part that, while being cheap to buy, can be very expensive in terms of lost fuel economy if not changed as needed. Next, a major tune-up will be required. For older models, this should be done every 10,000 to 25,000 miles, depending on how you drive and under what sorts of conditions. There are discount Land Rover auto parts such as spark plugs, PCV valves, plug wires, and oxygen sensors that should be part of every scheduled tune-up, as well as a good carburetor cleaner if your Rover was built before the 1980s, or injector cleaners for later models. When you use discount genuine OEM Land Rover parts, the chances are good that it will keep going strong long after that odometer hits 100,000 for the second – or even the third time.

The 1987 Range Rover
When the original Range Rover debuted at the Los Angeles auto show in 1987, it was unlike anything offered at the time in the U.S. market. While the Range Rover was fully loaded with what seemed to be an endless list of amenities and creature comforts, Land Rover assured the masses that the vehicle was designed with sport and utility as its primary focus. Forever known as an authentic off-road vehicle, the original Range Rover appeared to echo the design cues of the original Land Rover created by English automaker Maurice Wilks in 1948. Ultimately setting the tone for the luxury 4x4 market, the 1987 Range Rover changed what was once a niche market, into one of the most popular segments of the auto industry in the U.S.
The 1993 Land Rover Defender 110
Making its debut in the U.S. in 1993, the Defender 110 remains the standard amongst all off-road rigs. A five-door, 110-inch-wheelbase limited edition release, the 1993 Defender 110 was limited to a 500 unit production cycle, of which all instantly sold at launch. The 110-inch wheelbase model was not reproduced, and in its stead came the Land Rover Defender 90 in 1994, featuring a smaller 90 inch-wheelbase. The Defender 90 is almost as spectacular as its larger wheelbased brother, although the rarity of the Defender 110 and the off-road capabilities of its 110-inch-wheelbase edge out the competition.
The 1998 Land Rover Discovery Series II
Introduced in the U.S. in 1994, the Discovery series I was, again, something different from what Americans were accustomed to seeing from Land Rover. Easily distinguishable by the unusually raised roof, roof rack, and alpine windows, the Discovery filled the gap between the luxurious Range Rover and the utilitarian Defender. It wouldn’t be until 1998 when the company introduced the Series II Discovery, which aimed to correct some of the pain points of the introductory model by increasing leg, hip, and shoulder room, in addition to an overall space improvement in the luggage area. These additions came at a sacrifice to off-road utility, but not by any significant means. All things considered, the LRD2 (as it’s called in the enthusiast forums) is a classic and capable off-road machine that blurs the lines between family SUV and safari-ready sport utility vehicle.
