Vintage Michelin Man Porcelain Tires Sign – Deep Blue & Yellow Advertising Piece
About this item
Vertically oriented and porcelain through and through, this sign runs 60 inches tall by 20 inches wide — a deep blue ground anchoring bold yellow "MICHELIN" lettering across the top, Bibendum himself rendered front and center holding a tire, and large white "TIRES" text dominating the lower half. Mounting holes spaced around the perimeter mean it's ready for wall or post installation without fuss.
It's been out there. Edge chips, surface marks, localized porcelain loss — all of it's photographed honestly, and none of it is surprising for a sign that actually hung somewhere rather than spent its life boxed up. The colors still read strong. The graphic layout holds together, and the period advertising character of the piece comes through without any need for apology.
This one comes out of Emory, TX, and it's a serious find for collectors working petroliana, automotive advertising, or Michelin memorabilia in particular. Go through the photographs carefully — condition is well documented there.
