The Volvo v70 coolant level sensor on your car measures the coolant level in your Volvo’s expansion tank to inform you when the coolant level drops below the minimum level needed for your Volvo’s cooling system to operate optimally. If the coolant level sensor in your Volvo fails, it will not be able to sense the coolant level in the expansion tank and a warning light will illuminate on the dash.
