This kit contains the rebuilt factory air pump, required valves, clamps, connecting air hoses and an air filter to properly replace the emission system secondary air pump.
The air injection pump on your Mercedes M116 and M117 V8 engine is a secondary emissions control device that pumps air into your vehicle’s exhaust to reduce tailpipe emissions below federal and state standards. By pumping fresh air into the exhaust system, unspent and partially burnt fuel can then oxidize and burn off completely, reducing the number of hydrocarbons that must be processed by the catalytic converter. Failure of the secondary air pump on your Mercedes will cause the vehicle’s emissions to increase and cause your Mercedes to fail emissions testing. The AAZ Preferred 380SLAPKIT air pump kit is complete air pump replacement kit for your 1981-1985 Mercedes 380SL/SLC/SE/SEC/SEL and 1986-1991 Mercedes 450 SEL models with the M116 V8, and 1984-1985 Mercedes 500SEC/SEL and 1986-1991 560SL/SEC/SEL models with the M117 V8. It contains a rebuilt C&M Hydraulics 1161401285X air injection pump, genuine Mercedes 0001407760 air pump diverter valve, MTC 0001407860 air pump check valve, Mann 0020944604 air pump filter, genuine Mercedes 1160941682 air pump hose, URO 1160900382 air pump distribution hose, and (2) Gemi HC20329 hose clamps, everything your need to replace the air injection pump on your Mercedes M116 and M117 engine and have your Mercedes pass emissions.
