The ignition distributor seal on your Volvo 940 seals the ignition distributor to the engine block, keeping oil out of the ignition distributor. A leaking ignition distributor seal not only can create an oil mess, but oil getting in the distributor can foul the distributor rotor and cap, and sludge to build up inside of the ignition distributor wear out bearing and causing the ignition distributor to fail. This Qualiseal 969332 ignition distributor shaft inner seal is direct replacement for the original Volvo 308548540 seal used on the 1991-1995 Volvo 940 models.
