The Volvo Parking Assistance Pilot system reads the parking space using ultrasonic sensors and notifies you if the space is big enough. For parallel parking- the system requires a parking space that is only 1.2 times the length of the car- which is a size that most drivers would not even consider attempting to park in on their own. The user friendly system requires that you follow the instructions on the drivers display.
