Here are some interesting facts about your Acura Legend: it had the same engine and transmission as the Rover-800, and was actually sold as a Rover in Europe. The 1990 Acura Legend manufactured for Japan’s domestic market was also the first production automobile to have an onboard navigation system, although this one did not rely on GPS. You might also be interested to know that the Daewoo Arcadia is essentially the same vehicle. No matter what it’s called on the outside, the Acura Legend is a machine like any other, and requires proper maintenance and occasional repairs in order to keep running at peak performance and economy. You’ll do this less often by (A) developing good driving habits (avoiding sudden stops and starts, using the least amount of throttle, avoiding rough roads and using engine compression to slow the vehicle when safe to do so) and (B) buying the best quality Acura Legend parts you can find. There are several aftermarket manufactures offering discount Acura Legend parts, and these can vary a great deal in terms of quality and durability. When it comes to Acura parts, OEM equipment is always the best first choice. However, since this vehicle is technically out of production, you may wind up purchasing aftermarket Acura Legend parts. In this case, look for those manufactured by domestic industries, as these will generally be of higher quality. As a result, you’ll wind up doing those repair and maintenance jobs a lot less often than you would otherwise.
