From 1991 to 1995, the Acura Vigor was that company’s mid-size sedan. The front-wheel drive makes for very good handling, but if you’ve kept yours all these years, there’s a good chance that some of those front-end components are starting to show their age. If your vehicle is not as responsive to the steering wheel as it once was, new Acura Vigor parts such as struts and tie rod ends can make all the difference.
Front-wheel drive “pulls” the car along rather than “pushes” it from behind. This is good for handling, but it presents some real technical challenges when it comes to maintenance. One of the Acura Vigor parts of the front end that tends to wear out before anything else is the CV joints. These Acura parts serve the same function as u-joints on rear-wheel drive cars, but because they are subject to the stresses of steering as well, tend to wear faster. It’s a good idea to check under the front end and look at the CV boots – the rubber coverings that look like a concertina. If one or both of these are broken, it can mean real trouble, since the slightest bit of dirt or grime can cause substantial damage. In this case, its usually more economical to order an entire assembly rather than attempt to service these parts yourself. If you’re ordering discount Acura Vigor parts for your front end, make sure the company who makes the part is a domestic industry subject to quality regulations.
